Wichita Community Groups – Life is better connected!

To grow spiritually, you have to be connected relationally.

Because none of us are not designed to do life alone, one of our primary goals for everyone is that they are connect to at least 2, up to 12 individuals, truly doing life together. Community groups are a place where people have the opportunity to pursue authentic community and spiritual growth in Wichita. When you join a group, you’ll spend time socializing, learning, and praying together. All you have to do is show up, join in, and be real!

What is a Community Group?

Community Groups are small groups of 3 to 12 individuals. It could be a mix of couples or individuals or both who meet in homes, in the community or online. Groups are where people have the opportunity to pursue authentic community and spiritual growth.

What do Community Groups do?

Groups commit to spending a predetermined amount of time together for authentic community and spiritual growth. A great group includes time for both relational connection and studies that challenge members to grow spiritually. Groups also identify a life-impacting opportunity that they, as a group, are going to take on in the community. A “mission” to make a difference in the lives of others. A typical group meeting will consist of social time, study, and prayer.

How often do Community Groups meet?

Groups typically meet about three times per month for 1.5 to 2 hours. Most groups take breaks during the holidays and summer.

Where do Community Groups meet?

Most groups meet in homes and are formed based on the leader’s location or the chosen Host Home.

What types of Community Groups do you offer?

There’s no limit! As soon as we have a leader, co-leader and location, we can launch groups of all shapes and make ups. Examples would be:

Married Couples' Groups

  • Just Married (married within the last two years)
  • Married Without Children
  • Married With Children
  • Empty Nesters

Men's Groups

  • Various Stages of Life
  • Morning or Lunch Groups
  • “Iron & Ale” Groups

Women's Groups

  • Singles-Only
  • Various Stages of Life
  • Morning and Daytime Groups
  • Moms' Groups

Is childcare provided during regular group meetings?

Childcare is not provided. However, if a group lacks the resource to provide childcare so the adults can truly focus, New Life will provide supplement funds (at a predetermined rate) if you need a babysitter in order to attend regular group meetings.

How do I join a Community Group?

Just complete the online form and that will get the ball rolling!

What other types of groups do you offer?

Some people would like to “try before they buy” before stepping into a longer-term group. So, an option is a short-term group that meets for between four and eight weeks depending on the topic.
